Srinagar: A CRPF jawan committed suicide by shooting self after wounding two of his colleagues in the summer capital, Srinagar outskirts, official sources said on Sunday.
They said a jawan, Mukesh Babu, entered into a heated argument with his two colleagues, Ranjeet Tewari and Jaafar-u-Din Qureshi, over some issue at a CRPF camp at Pantha Chowk in the city outskirts on Saturday night.
“The argument escalated following which Mukesh fired at them, resulting in injuries to both the jawans,” they said, adding that Tewari and Qureshi were immediately taken to Army’s 92 Base Hospital.
They said Mukesh later committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
