Srinagar: No militant body has been recovered so far from the site of a gunfight between the militants and the government forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that the search operation is still on at the site of the gunfight that broke early Saturday in Aripal village. “So far no body has been recovered from the debris of the house in which militants were hiding,” said a local on conditions of anonymity.
He said that the cordon-and-search-operation continues in the area to prevent the militants from escaping. Earlier, thousands of people had marched towards the gunfight site following rumours about the death of a Hizb commander Hammad Khan.
However, reports said that announcements were made over the public address systems of the mosques at his native village of Seer about his ‘escapade’ from the gunfight site.
