Man dies after falling from a rooftop while clearing snow

Srinagar: A man died after falling from a rooftop while he was clearing snow in Plan area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday.
An official said that Mumtaz Ahmad, a resident of Plan Bandipora, fell down from the roof of his house while he was clearing snow to prevent it from collapsing.
“He was shifted to DH Bandipora where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura for treatment but he succumbed on the way. At Soura, he was declared dead on arrival,” he said.
Former legislator and senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat has expressed shock over the tragic death of Mumtaz Ahmad who died after falling from rooftop while clearing snow on Saturday morning.
Bhat in his condolence message expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Mumtaz. He was like a family member. May Almighty give strength to the bereaved family to bear the repeatable loss. I share this hour of grief with the family, “he said.
