Srinagar: Senior PDP leader and former minister Javed Mustafa Mir on Saturday evening announced his resignation from the basic membership of the party .
Local news gathering agency KNS quoted him as saying “ I have decided to resign from the basic membership of the party (PDP) and will forward my resignation to party president Sunday morning”. Javed Mustafa Mir has won assembly elections thrice as a candidate of Peoples’ Democratic Party. He won assembly elections as PDP candidate in 2002,2008 and 2014 . He was minister of state in the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led PDP-Congress coalition government from 2002-05, a cabinet minister in the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led PDP-BJP coalition government in 2015 and against a cabinet minister in the Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP Government in 2017
