Kishtwar: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana Thursday inaugurated 3 day long, Inter zonal competition under “Khelo India” scheme organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of DYSSO Deewan Chand Thakur.
Senior citizens besides staff members of Sports and Information department and scores of students hailing from 8 zones including Nagseni, Drabshalla, Paddar, Inderwal, Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and Kishtwar were present on the occasion.
DDC asked the students to make optimum use of play grounds for improving their sports skills. He lauded DYSSO for frequently organizing such events to encourage the youth towards sports activities.
He interacted with the team players and advised them to play in a true game spirit.
DSSYO stated that elaborate arrangements have been put in place by the administration to provide Sports equipments, refreshment, Uniform and transportation facilities to the participating sports persons.
The sports event will witness competitions in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volley Ball, Tug of War, Rope Skipping, Badminton, Table tennis, Wrestling and Athletics.
