Islamabad/Jan, 1: Pakistan on Tuesday said that a woman was killed and nine others injured in “ruthless” Indian firing and on LoC on the side of its own administered party of Kashmir
The firing on the last day of 2018 took place at Athmuqam, around 80 kilometres northeast of state capital Muzaffarabad, reported Dawn News.
“First they [Indians] fired some shells on Pakistan Army posts, but suddenly they started pounding civilian installations with mortar shells,” Akhtar Ayub, an Athmuqam based disaster risk management officer, was quoted as saying by the report.
The shelling stopped after an hour but left a 27-year-old woman dead and nine others wounded, Ayub said.
He identified the deceased as Asiya Bibi.
