AH Deptt organises farmers’ awareness prog at Anantnag

Ang: Department of Animal Husbandry Friday organised awareness cum interaction program here for progressive poultry unit holders and farmers of the district under National Livestock Mission.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Parvaiz Sajad -the Chief Guest distributed 300 Broiler Chicks and 6 quintal Poultry Feed each among 45 selected beneficiaries under National Livestock Mission, Innovative Poultry Productivity Project (Broiler).
The program was attended by scores of progressive farmers from various parts of the district. Experts educated the participants regarding the latest scientific ways of dairy farming.
While interacting with the progressive farmers, the ADC said all sorts of facilities are being provided to the farmers to get a better yield through different schemes and programs of the government. He added that the poultry sector has a tremendous potential to provide jobs to the youth. He stressed upon the concerned department to aware educated youth regarding the various schemes in the poultry and allied sectors so that they are benefitted.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Anantnag said experts from the department remain available round the clock for the benefit of the poultry farm unit holders. He added that regular awareness camps are being organised for the benefit of the farmer community.
