DC Kargil chairs DLRC meeting

Kargil: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil Vikas Kundal Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) for the quarter ending September 2018.
He reviewed the flow of credit, performance of banks in key areas with regard to deposits and lending, advances under priority and non- priority sectors and Government Sponsored Schemes under Annual Credit Plan 2018-2019.
District Lead Bank Manager Vijay Kumar Yadav, representatives of different banks and the departmental heads of the line departments including Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, DIC, KVIB, Social Welfare, Municipal Committee, Handloom, Handicrafts and other line departments attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the DC reviewed the progress of cases under PMEGP, KVIB, KVIC, DIC, NULM, NRLM, PMAWY, Mudra Loan, DEDS, KCC, Handloom, Handicraft and other sectors with special emphasis on credit linkage of the borrower under these schemes.
Thorough discussions and deliberations were held with regard to the current position of deposits, advances, CD Ratio and advances under credit linked schemes.
The Lead District Manager, Kargil informed the meeting that various banks in the district have recorded Rs 1182.57 crores in deposits and Rs 586.49 crores in advances with the CD ratio of 49.59% up to ending September, 2018.
The Deputy Commissioner called for comprehensive and timely accomplishment of targets earmarked for the financial year 2018-2019 thereby paving way to provide more economic development opportunities to the beneficiaries. He also emphasized for proper implementation of government-sponsored schemes to increase the credit-deposit ratio of the financial institutions further directing the bankers to intensify their efforts to increase CD ratio up to 60% in the district.
The DC stressed upon the banks to enhance lending to beneficiaries especially in priority sector with particular focus on schemes like Housing for All, Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS), Poultry Venture Capital Funds, schemes under KVIB, Mudra Yojana and other beneficiary-oriented schemes.
Stressing on collaborative efforts by the banks especially the private sector banks and line departments in holding awareness camps on regular basis in the remote and far off areas of the district, the DC said this will go a long way in creating necessary awareness among the people especially the unemployed youth about PMEGP, NRLM, NULM, New Employment Generation Program, Social Security Schemes PMJDY, PMJJBSY, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and other credit linked schemes.
The issue with regard to the setting up of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in the district also came up for discussion for which the District Administration has already allotted land measuring 9 kanals and 1 Marla at Trespone.
The DC directed the District Lead Bank Manager to pursue the matter pertaining to the provision of funds with the concerned authorities so that the training centre is established in the district as early as possible. This he stated will go a long way in providing awareness and training facilities on continued basis about different Government schemes and loan patterns to the Departments, bankers as well as to the beneficiaries.
