As many as 17 employees of various government departments in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were suspended on Wednesday for allegedly being absent from duty.
The suspensions were ordered by District Development Commissioner Khalid Jehangir after he conducted surprise inspections at various offices located in Handwara including PHE division Handwara, Social welfare office and PHC chowgul of the district, an official said.
Chief medical officer Kupwara and executive Engineer PHE division Handwara have been asked to charge sheet the suspended officials and furnish their reports to the office of Deputy Commissioner within 15 days, it added.
