National Consumers Rights Day: awareness prog held at Poonch

Poonch: Legal Meteorology Department and FCS&CA Monday organized a consumer rights awareness program in connection with National Consumer Rights Day.
The Assistant Controller, Kewal Krishan, while highlighting the importance of the Consumer rights, stressed on the participants to apply their informed choices to buy commodity from the market and assert their right as vigilant consumer.
Tehsil Supply Officer, Kamlesh Sharma highlighted the importance of FCS&CA department in protection of Consumer rights and emphasized that they can approach to the office of Assistant Director or Assistant Controller Legal Metrology in case of any compliant and also informed the audience that both the department are authorized on behalf of consumers to lodge compliant in appropriate consumers foru
The Assistant Controller LMD gave valuable advises to the consumers with critical examples and also threw light on the procedures to lodge complaint in consumer foru He advised the consumers that they should secure the bills of the Commodity they purchase from the market as the same can be used for redressal of grievances in future.
While replying to a question of Consumers about charges of hefty fees by private institutions in the name of Professional Courses, the Assistant Controller stressed the consumers that before seeking admission by students in any private institution, they should know about the affiliation and recognition of the institution and courses they run.
