Khelo India: Girls sports competitions held at Samba

Samba: Under the aegis of Khelo-India, Sports for peace and development, thrilling competitions among girl teams were played here at Sports Stadium Samba.
Program Officer Samba ICDS, Jyoti Salathia was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest congratulated the winners and asked them to avail this opportunity to showcase their talent. “Girls have made nation proud in every walk of life and Saturday’s young participants should get inspiration from sports women achiever’s including PV Sindhu, Marry Kom, Sakshi Malik, Sania Nehwal, Sania Mirza and others”, she added.
Later, the DPO gave away trophies and consolation prizes among the winners and runner up.
In Saturday’s competition, Volleyball girls under 17 years category, GN Suchani defeated Foji Public School Patti and in under 20 years category Ramgarh Club defeated MR Club.
In Kabbadi, under 17 years category girls, BBN Vijaypur defeated MI Sumb and in under 20 years category GHSS Rajpura defeated GHSS Vijaypur.
In Kho-Kho, under 17 years girls, NV Dholate defeated HSS Nud and in under 20 years category KV Samba defeated over HSS Purmandal.
In badminton, under 17 years Rudrakshi of Ghagwal won the match while Manavi of Samba remained the runner-up, in under 20 years category girls, Shivani of Vijaypur defeated Sapna in finals while in above 20 years category, Meenu of Samba and Monika of Ghagwal were winner and runner-up respectively.
