Poonch: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) imposed a fine of Rs.25000 on the management of Haryana based chocolate manufacturing firm for violating the provisions of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
During inspection at various retail outlets, the team of LMD headed by Assistant Controller Kewal Krishan observed that small packs of chocolates of various denominations were offered to sale to consumers without declaring the month/Year of packingand details of the manufacturer on these packs.
Responding to legal notice of LMD, the management of the firm admitted its guilt and pleaded for composition of the case at department level.
