Srinagar/Dec, 19: Former Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari and Peer Mohammad Hussain former Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board on Wednesday formally joined National Conference (NC) in presence of party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, vice president Omar Abdullah and other top leaders of the party.
Party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah welcomed Syed Basharat Bukhari and Peer Mohammad Hussain into the party fold.
While Peer Mohammad Hussain won 2002 assembly elections as PDP candidate, Bukhari as PDP candidate won 2008 and 2014 elections from Sangrama constituency of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Bukhari was a minister in the previous PDP-BJP coilition government and Hussain was Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board during the previous Mehbooba led PDP-BJP coalition government. Peer Mohammad Hussain was also minister of state in Gh Nabi Azad led Congress-PDP coalition government.
