3-Day training on IT-enabled ‘Govt Process Reengineering’ for officers concludes

Jammu: Training program on ‘Government Process Re-engineering’ organized by the Information Technology Department in collaboration with National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG) concluded here Wednesday.
The 3-Day training program was attended by more than 30 senior officers of various departments of the State Government.
During the training program, NISG facilitator Jagdish Chander Kapoor and B Krishnamurthy sensitized the participants about various topics like Understanding Government Process & Service Quality, Process of Re-engineering, Collection of Data for Process Mapping, Definition of the Vision 7 Understanding Service Prioritization and Legal & Policy Framework for GPR.
During the concluding session of the training program GM, NISG Satyajit Rao Vaguala presented a comprehensive presentation on Governance Development, Community Capacity Building and Socioeconomic Challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Information Technology, Saugat Biswas congratulated the participants for their enthusiastic approach to learn and participate in different events of the training program.
He added that these trainings have been started in a big way this year after a gap of six years and have already covered administrators and officers of various levels from different departments of the State Government, districts including Leh and Kargil& State Taxes department.
Biswas informed that these training programs will cover around 250 officers positioned at strategic levels in the Government including officers of the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Directors and officers from various other administrative departments.
He added that in a series of trainings undertaken in collaboration with NISG on Government Process re-engineering (GPR), Information Security & Cyber Security Management have been completed and training on Project Management (PRINCE 2) is in progress.
The Secretary, Information Technology also distributed the certificates to the participants in the closing ceremony.
During the feedback session of the training program the participants expressed their ideas and experiences about the program and said these trainings will help them long way to serve in their respective departments.
They expressed that the training program motivated them to improve the quality and approach of work and hoped that they will try to implement these learnings on ground.
During the workshop, it was informed that presently over 100 G2C services are being offered online by the J&K government. The land records are being digitized, transport department services are online and the offices are moving towards file and record digitization and adopting e-tendering for procurement purposes.
