Samba: Volleyball, kabbadi, kho-kho, badminton matches mark Day 2 of Khelo India event

Samba: Several matches of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Badminton, Kho Kho Saturday marked Day 2 of Khelo-India-Sports for peace and development being organized here in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Arun manhas, chief guest, interacted with the sportspersons and exhorted upon them to play with true sportsmen spirit. He said the ongoing district level competitions are being held to channelize the energies of youth in a right direction. These sports events will further upgrade the sports talent of the participants enabling them to compete at state, national and international level, he said.
Later, Dr. Manhas distributed prizes and trophies among the winners and consolation prizes to runner-ups.
In Saturday’s volleyball event under 17 years category, BBN Vijaypur defeated HSS Smailpur while RC club registered win over Sanoora Club Ghagwal in under 20 years category. In kabbadi event under 17-year category, Conquer Club won over Sumb Club while in Kho-kho event under 17 years category CMP Nud defeated N V Dahlote and in under 20 years category Govt. Degree College Samba won over GHSS Nud.
In badminton under 17 years category, Sahdev Singh defeated Nikhil Sharma, Hitesh Khajuria registered win over Rohit Khajuria in under 20 years category while Aman Kumar of Ghagwal won over Akashdeep of Vijaypur in above 20 years category.
