Sopore/Dec, 13: Two militants were on Thursday morning killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Gund Brath village of Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police official said gunfight erupted after exchange of fire between the militants and the government forces Wednesday evening. He said operation was suspended Wednesday night and resumed Thursday morning adding that “two militants were killed on Thursday morning after the gunfight resumed”.
The official said the slain militants were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and have been identified. ‘The slain militants have been identified as Owais Bhat and Tahir Ahmad Dar — both local residents’, the official said.
