Defectors and their intents

Discovering the new ways of defections the lawmakers of yesteryears who even held positions of ministers in the previous Mehbooba led PDP-BJP coalition government defect to the parties loyal to either a regional political party allying with the party in power at the centre or the parties expected to regain ground on the anti-incumbency factor in the forthcoming assembly and lok sabha elections. Usually the people tend to make choices between the performers and non-performers but this time they are supposed to choose between the defectors and the performers. Very shocking it is that defectors have outnumbered performers this time and keeping in view the intents of defectors it is very difficult for the electors to make a right choice in the coming lok sabha and assembly elections. The ex MLAs defecting to other parties are mostly from PDP and BJP the two political parties who had stitched an alliance in contrast to their core political ideologies just for pelf and power in the year 2015. Surprisingly the defectors of PDP and BJP are not moving to other parties in protest against formation of coalition government in contrast to their core political ideologies but for securing their poll prospects in the coming assembly and lok sabha elections. In 2008 assembly elections people in Kashmir re-elected those who were arrested on charges of involvement in a sex scandal but the very sex scandal accused law makers were denied mandate in 2014 assembly elections for their power showing as ministers.

Since defectors tending to show political morality on their core political ideology have been part of a political combination stitched in contrast to their core political ideologies they cease the moral right to tell the people that they are championing the cause of their political ideologies in election time now.

Since Ex MLAs of PDP and BJP defecting to other parties were part of the previous Mehooba led PDP-BJP coalition government, they deserve the punishment which most of the ministers of NC-Congress were given in 2014 assembly elections even if they (defectors) shift to other parties who were not part of PDP-BJP coalition government. The defectors say that they are the elected representatives but can they explain why they allowed their parties to sell the public mandate for pelf and power in total contrast to their political ideologies. Since defectors tending to show political morality on their core political ideology have been part of a political combination stitched in contrast to their core political ideologies they cease the moral right to tell the people that they are championing the cause of their political ideologies in election time now. It is for the people to teach a lesson to the new age defectors for their poor showing as ministers and silence on compromise over their core political ideologies for three long years.
