Srinagar/Dec, 11: Three policemen were on Tuesday killed and another one injured in an attack on a police post Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports said a group of militants opened fire at the police post Zsinpora, resulting into on spot death of three security guards and injuries to another one.
The injured cop has been taken to hospital for treatment, but his condition is stated to be critical.
The militants after carrying out the deadly attack decamped with four service rifles from the policemen, they said.
A police official said the death of three policemen and injuries to another.
He said that the cops were guarding the minority community in the area.
Soon after the attack, a joint team of army and SOG launched a massive hunt to nab the attackers
The slain cops were identified as Mehraj from Sopore, Abdul Majid from Shalbugh Ganderbal and Hamidullah from Mirhama Anantnag.
