Srinagar: Abid Ansari, the uncle of former minister Imran Raza Ansari on Saturday evening formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Abid Ansari is the third dissident leader after Imran Ansari and Haseeb Drabu to quit the party.
Taking to micro blogging social networking site twitter, Abid Ansari wrote, “I hereby announce my resignation from @jkpdp as the party has failed the people of J&K on all fronts. I don’t want to be a part of the lies and deception being perpetuated by the party. Hv sent a detailed letter of resignation to @MehboobaMufti. Will soon interact with the media.”
