JRL’s Human Rights Week: Mirwaiz house detained to foil his participation in candle light protest

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq was Monday morning placed under house to foil his participation in the candlelight vigil against human rights violations in Kashmir.
A Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman said that Mirwaiz was detained Monday morning at his residence in Nigeen area of Srinagar.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik has urged people to observe human rights week from Monday .
The leaders have asked people to lit candles and torch lights after evening prayers during this week to highlight human rights abuses in the valley.
