Srinagar: Press Information Bureau (PIB) Srinagar is going to organize a one-day Media Workshop for journalists at Auditorium of J&K Department of Information and Public Relations, Polo View, Srinagar on November 24, 2018.

Around 70 working journalists from Srinagar and Budgam districts are expected to attend the day-long workshop, titled “Vartalap”. The programme has been organised by PIB with active support from Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K. During the event, a number of experts will share their views about various topics including government sponsored schemes and initiatives.

The workshop will be the tenth of its kind in the valley. The workshop aims to act as an interface between the government and journalists especially those reporting from far-flung areas. It also acts as a platform to highlight the benefits of Centrally Sponsored Schemes for rural people and the role played by the local media for creating awareness among the masses.

“Vartalap” is one of the components of PIBs Media Outreach Strategy. Similar workshops have earlier been organised by PIB in various districts of the valley.
