Udhampur: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar, Saturday visited District Hospital Udhampur where he inspected its functioning and took stock of patient care there.
Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra, Medical Superintendent, DH Udhampur Dr. Vijay Basnotra accompanied the Advisor. The Advisor also took a round of various units/wards of the hospital including Trauma Center, Resuscitation Center, Dialysis Room, OT Complex, Blood bank, Ultra- Sound, X-Ray, CT Complex, etc where the CMO and concerned staff of hospital briefed him about the facilities being provided to the patients.
He also took stock of availability of doctors, medical staff, medical supplies and critical care ambulances in the district. Chief Medical Officer briefed about the functioning of hospital and bottlenecks faced by the health institute.
The Advisor said the hospital is one of the best health centres and asked the doctors and other staff to provide better healthcare facilities to the people. He also interacted with doctors and other staff members during which several issues pertaining to critical care ambulance, dearth of staff, unavailability of other medical instruments, existing strength of doctors and Para-medical staff, availability of vehicles, daily functioning of different sections were discussed.
