Ramban: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar Saturday visited District Hospital and Trauma Care Center Ramban to take stock of healthcare facilities being provided to the patients in these health institutions.

Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education Atal Dulloo, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, DIG, DKR, Rafiq-Ul-Hassan, SSP, Anita Sharma, CMO, Dr Saif-ud-Din Khan and other concerned officers accompanied the Advisor.

The Advisor also inspected newly-constructed New Ancillary Medical Training (ANMT) school complex Ramban and directed the concerned to make it functional so that youth can be trained for mitigating shortage of manpower at the local level.

During the visit, the DC Ramban apprised the Advisor about the major issues of DH Ramban including the shortage of doctors and technical staff and requirement of more intensive care ambulances.

Advisor also interacted with the staff members of the District Hospital and enquired about their daily duties and progress. They apprised him about steps being taken to deal with any kind of eventuality that may arise due to road accidents, especially on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

While reviewing the overall working of the hospital, Kumar asked for providing best possible healthcare facilities to people visiting the hospital for the treatment. He also discussed ways of making the Trauma centre fully functional by putting in requisite manpower, machinery and other equipment.

The Advisor directed the hospital authorities to keep sufficient stock medicines and ensure required medical facilities to meet any exigency. Later, a delegation of locals met the Advisor and raised the issue of delay in the proper functioning of Trauma Care Center, Ramban by early posting of sanctioned staff and equipment. Advisor Kumar assured them redressal of all of their genuine demands within shortest possible time.
