Srinagar/Nov, 17: Shutdown across Kashmir called by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Chairman and Yasin Malik the JKLF Chairman against panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir hit normal life across Kashmir.
Shops and other commercial establishments remained closed in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley . While Public transport was off the roads the private vehicles were seen moving on the roads.
Attendance in government offices, banks and post offices was also affected due to the non-availability of public transport.
Police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed in strength on Srinagar’s old city areas and other law and order sensitive places.
