SC/ST Corpn organizes awareness camp at Aragam

Bandipora : District Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Corporation Bandipora on Saturday organised an awareness program in Gujjarpati area of Aragam village/
The aim of the program was to sensitize people about various schemes available for setting up of income generating units for their socio-economic upliftment.
People from various adjoining areas joined the awareness program including a good number of women. The participants were informed about setting up of income generating units and the schemes available for them to avail benefit for setting up these units.
On the occasion, District Manager of the corporation informed the locals about various schemes available for different categories. During the interaction with the locals, it was found that the area has a good potential of shawl embroidery and most of the people are engaged in this economic activity.
On the occasion officials distributed about 50 loan forms among interested persons belonging to the scheduled tribe, social caste, handicapped and minority categories. It was informed that the corporation has already provided loans to many persons belonging to these categories in the district who have set up various income-generating units so far.
The officials urged the people who have already availed the loan facilities from the corporation for different units to liquidate their loan instalments well in time so that the other needy people will be benefited in ensuing months.
