Advisor (K) takes stock of developmental, security scenario in Rajouri

Rajouri : In his day long visit to Rajouri, Advisor to the Governor, K Vijay Kumar Saturday met several public deputations to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and developmental issues. He also reviewed the development as well as security scenario in the district.
After reaching Rajouri, the Advisor convened a meeting with senior officers of the district administration and security agencies including police, army and paramilitary officials deployed in the district to discuss to review the overall law and order scenario and pace of developmental activities in the district. He also sought first hand appraisal regarding the upcoming Panchayat election preparedness.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Deepak Kumar Slathia, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, ADC Rajouri Sher Singh, ADC Kotranka Ved Parkash and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Later, several delegations comprising senior citizens and civil society members drawn from different areas of the district called upon the Advisor and put forth various issues of public importance and sought government’s intervention for timely completion of projects in the better interest of public.
Better road connectivity, uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, adequate healthcare and sanitation facilities, clearance of liabilities under MGNREGA and SBM were among the various issues raised by the delegations.
The delegation led by MLA Rajouri Chowdhary Qammar Hussain expressed urgency for up-gradation of various schools in the far-flung areas, opening of women degree in the district and creation of ADC post for both Manjakote and Thanamandi, special police recruitment for the youth of border belts, up-gradation of police posts at Chingus and Rajouri, up-gradation of Health Sub Centre Doongi to PHC and Trauma Hospital on the Mughal road. He also demanded funding under tribal BADP plan and for the completion of tribal model villages.
A Public delegation of Rajouri town discussed various issues including completion of three bridges started under CRF, identification of land for the parking, replacement of water supply pipes in the town, funds for the construction of park, funding for completion of circular road from Abdullah bridge to Tariq bridge, alternate connectivity of old town and new town Rajouri and community hall at Jawahar Nagar
Another delegation also raised certain issues like sanctioning of one CT scan machine in DH Rajouri, special drive for border youths, munsif court for Darhal, bringing potential tourist destination on tourism map and up gradation or renovation of Rajouri-Darhal road, filling up of vacant posts in the hospitals and others.
A delegation from Manjakote and Panjgrain demanded sanctioning of Degree College and Munsif Court for Manjakote, construction of bunkers for the border residents, release of pending payment against SBM works. They also demanded opening of JK Bank branch at Panjgrain and demarcation of forest land to avoid encroachment.
DDC Rajouri while apprising the Advisor about the ongoing developmental activities in the district also raised certain issue of public importance which requires Government’s intervention like additional funding for taking up developmental works including construction of important bridges to ease out the traffic congestion. He also highlighted various other issues needs to be addressed for the betterment of the public.
Responding to the issues raised by deputations, K Vijay Kumar reiterated that the State government is committed for result oriented disposal of the demands projected by the public. He assured that the issues projected by the public delegations will be examined and redressed in a systematic manner.
Meanwhile, on the spot directions were passed for redressal of grievances put forth by the public deputations. He directed the officers to maintain close liaison with the local population for prompt redressal of grievances and public service delivery.
The Advisor complimented the district administration for the doing commendable work for the overall development of the district. He asked them to remain active in field and bring more value to the public services so that the idea of good governance can be achieved.
