Anju Nigam reviews functioning of Doordarshan, AIR in JK at Jmu

Jammu : Joint Secretary Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Anju Nigam Friday reviewed the functioning of Doordarshan and All India Radio at a meeting convened at Media Complex here this afternoon.
Secretary Information, Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Technical, JKPDD, Bashir Ahmad Dar and Director Information & PR, Tariq Ahmed Zargar were also present in the meeting.
Various issues discussed in the meeting included increase the duration of the news bulletins on Doordarshan and AIR, telecast of one more news bulletin between 7:00 pm and 10:30 pm, organizing interactive programs with the Heads of the Department from J&K and live coverage of sporting events on DD Kashir.
The other issues discussed at the meeting included strengthening of Doordarshan and AIR Kendrasin J&K by way of infrastructure and human resource, for which it was suggested that a special recruitment drive should be held for filling up the vacant posts in these organizations to engage the professionally qualified local Mass Communication and Journalism pass-outs.
The meeting also discussed the issues like telecast of human-interest stories, telecast of Khelo-India on DD Kashir and live telecast of I-League football matches by Doordarshan.
The meeting also called for convening the Intermedia Coordination Committee meeting to sort-out the issues.
Director General AIR Sanjiv Dosajh, Head of Programs DDK Jammu, Vinod Bhan, Head Regional News Unit AIR Jammu, RK Raina, DDG (E) PlanningDG AIR, Atul Gupta, DDG Doordarshan, Ashok Kumar Jha, ADP DD Kashir Doordarshan, New Delhi, Sandeep Sood, Deputy Secretary, Ghulam Rasool, AIG Welfare SSP, Police Headquarters Jammu, Manoj K Pandith, Program Head Radio Kashmir Jammu, Renu Raina, Joint Director Information Jammu, Naresh Kumar, Deputy Director Information (PR) Jammu, Meenakshi Vaid, Deputy Director Head Office, Ravi Kumar and Deputy Director DD News, Regional Outreach Bureau, MIB, Neha Jalali and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
