DC Jammu flags off ‘Ayushman Bharat Rath’ under PMJAY

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today flagged off the Ayushman Bharat Rath under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) here from DC complex.

The Ayushman Bharat Rath will cover all the blocks and villages of Jammu district to spread awareness regarding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) starting from Dansal Block today.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner stressed upon a sustained awareness campaign about the said scheme and further emphasized to inform the prospective beneficiaries about the programme and its benefits.

He informed that the PMJAY scheme will provide a cover of up to Rs 5 lakhs per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization and will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service. Every family under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) database will be entitled to claim the benefit. Around 76,814 beneficiaries and 47,512 families will get benefit from this scheme in Jammu district.

Among other activities to be carried out such as Special Drive-Mera PMJAY under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner included Ayushman Bharat Diwas celebrated on November 01, door to door activities from November 02 to November 15 through the participation of ANMs, ASHA and VLWs, IEC activities at block and district level through BMOs and CMOs, generation of Golden cards from CSCs and empanelled hospitals/designated places and distribution of Prime Minister Letters.

Among others, present on the occasion included CMO Jammu, Dr Sangeeta Chowdhary, CPO Jammu Girdhari Lal, Dy CMO Jammu Dr Mohd Yusufr Khan, Dr Isha Kohli, DPM NHM Jammu besides other senior functionaries of district Jammu.
