2 militants killed in a gunfight in Zugoo village in Budgam district

Srinagar/Nov,1: Two militants were on Thursday morning killed in a gunfight with goverment forces in Zugoo village of Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district .

Reports said Army’s 53RR, police and paramilitary CRPF cordoned off Zugoo village on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. As the government forces approached the place where the militants were hiding the heavy exchange of fire triggered by the firing of militants on the forces shook the area.

“In the heavy exchange of fire, two militants were killed, the identities of slain militants are being ascertained”, said a police spokesman adding that “incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter”. Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the instant matter.”

Police has appealed locals not to move to the gunfight site till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
