Srinagar : The State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik is likely to formally appoint Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police ahead of the hearing in the Supreme Court on November 2.
Quoting sources local news gathering agency KNS reported that State Administrative Council (SAC) scheduled to meet tomorrow (Wednesday) is likely to formally appoint Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police and with this he will be occupying the position of Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police on full time basis instead of holding additional charge of the post.
A panel of three senior most IPS officers of 1987 batch is being put up before the State Administrative Council for appointment as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police. Toping the list is Dilbagh Singh presently holding the post of Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police as additional charge and other two officers named in the panel.
Sources said that SAC is likely to put its stamp of approval on the formal appointment of Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police and state government will accordingly inform the Supreme Court about its decision on November 2. Sources also said that Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already conveyed its clearance for appointment of Dilbagh Singh as Director General Jammu and Kashmir Police.
