Kishtwar : Continuing the drive against the traffic violators, the ARTO Kishtwar, Abhay Sharma Thursday suspended 03 more driving licences for using mobile phones while driving.
The offences were reported by DTI Kishtwar, who recommended for these suspensions and routed them through Dy SP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar to ARTO Kishtwar. ARTO suspended these licenses in accordance with the directions of Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, which prescribes for immediate suspension of Driving Licences even for minor offences.
ARTO informed that in months of August and September, Motor Vehicles Department, Police and Traffic Police had jointly challaned 2193 vehicles, seized 114 of them, lodged 07 FIRs and suspended 05 driving licences, generating a fine of Rs. 6,15,100, which was the highest of any 2 consecutive months. “The drive shall continue and shall be intensified, if the violators do not come to terms”, he said.
Keeping in view of the recent accidents in Chenab valley and to check the use of mobile phones while driving which not only distracts the driver while driving but also puts the life of all the passengers in danger and disrupts their family as a whole, in case of accidents, strict action has been initiated to keep a check on violations of traffic norms, the ARTO maintained
