Secy YSS & Sports chairs State Advisory Committee meet on youth progs’

Srinagar: Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Sarmad Hafeez Wednesday said the Department of Youth Services & Sports will work in close coordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) for successful organization of youth-oriented programs across the state.

Speaking at the meeting of State Level Advisory Committee on Youth Programs in the meeting hall of Youth Hostel here, Sarmad informed said the Department of Youth Services & Sports has taken up many initiatives for the youth development. He said JK’s youth should be disciplined, skilled and responsible for leading a successful life and the Department of Youth Services & Sports shall provide every possible help to the NYKS for successful implementation of youth focused programs.

S S Kashyap, Director NYK, provided a detailed account of the activities, initiatives and future plans of the Sangathan while presenting a detailed presentation about the same. He also highlighted and appreciated efforts of all those Government Departments who been of help to the organization for the smooth and successful conduct of various programs and activities.

Dr Saleem ur Rehman Director General of Youth Services & Sports Department highlighted the importance of Skill-full youth for a progressive nation. He stated that besides a knowhow about the basic skills for leading a happy life, our youth should be trained in Basic Life Support. He said all the youngsters who are associated with NYK in one or other way should be trained in BLS as this skill would empower them to tackle any pre-hospital emergency. He also assured the representatives of NYK that the Department of Youth Services & Sports would always offer a helping hand to the organization for the successful conduct of different youth related initiatives.

Project Director Aids Control Organization Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Sameer Matoo, representatives of Department of Health Services Kashmir Dr AbidaKawoosa, NighatAalam Deputy Director Social Welfare, District Youth Services & Sports Officers of Kashmir province, District Coordinators of NYK and other senior officials of different Government Departments were also present in the meeting.
