DDC Udhampur reviews performance of banks

Udhampur:  Deputy Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar Tuesday reviewed the performance of the banks with regard to deposits and advances for the last quarter till June 2018 here at a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) & District Consultative Committee (DCC).

A detailed review  of flow of credit to priority sector and weaker sections of society, Issuance of KCCs , Bank and sector wise achievements in lending to priority/Non priority sector under Annual Credit Plan 2018-19 , Bank wise position of deposits/ Advances  as on 30-06-2018, was taken  by the DC. He also sought updates about the Finance to joint liability farming groups of Bhoomi heen Kissan, Financial inclusion plan for the district,  Functioning of financial literacy counseling center, Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the district,  Doubling of farmers income by 2022, Master circular on KCC scheme, Seeding of Aadhar and   other issues.

While addressing the meeting, DC stressed upon the Bankers and district officers for generating maximum awareness among the people about the various Govt social security schemes and different poverty alleviation schemes.

The DDC exhorted upon the bankers to organize awareness camps in consultation with the concerned BDO especially in rural areas of the district so that rural masses may be awared about financial inclusion schemes.He stressed for better coordination between bankers and Government departments for achieving the fixed targets.

He instructed all the bankers to bring the CD ratio at par with the national level in the next quarter.

The DDC exhorted upon the officers of Banks and Line Departments to fix targets according to the need and prospective of the area concerned so that no hindrance comes in the way to achieve optimum results on the ground in a stipulated time frame.

Earlier, the LDM, Udhampur gave a brief on performance and achievement of banks during the financial year 2018-19 in various sectors.
