Srinagar, Oct 23: Th circular issued by the School education department asking schools, colleges libraries and J&K cultural academy of art, culture & languages to consider purchasing Bhagwat Geeta and Ramayana books has been withdrawn within hours after news papes reported that government has asked for purchasing of Bhagwat Geeta and Ramayana to all schools, colleges and libraries.
A top government official said that the circr has been withdrawn on the directions of Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary BVR Subramaniyam keeping in view the sentiments of the people and religious netrality in educational institutions across the state.
