SVO challans Revenue officials

Srinagar/Oct, 20: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Saturday produced challan against Revenue Department officials for fraudulently paying compensation to private persons against non-existent land.
The charge sheet was produced by Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir against the accused before the before the competent Court Pulwama for judicial determination.
“During the investigation of case FIR No. 37/2010 P/S VOK during which it emerged that the accused public servants of Revenue department Pulwama had entered into a predesigned criminal conspiracy and fraudulently by abusing their official positions had processed prepared and paid compensation against non-existent land to the tune of Rs. 18,30,340/- in favour of the private persons (beneficiaries) who were not entitled to receive such amount thus causing wrongful loss to the state exchequer,” a statement of the SVO said.
The charges levelled were established against the accused public servants and beneficiaries including the then ACR Pulwama, then Tehsildar Awantipora, Patwari Halqa Awantipora; Naib Tehsil Awantipora, bank officials and private beneficiaries.
