Srinagar, Oct 21: A civilian identified as Ubaid Laway was killed near encounter site in Laroo village of Kulgam on Sunday morning due to an explosion at encounter site where three militants were killed earlier.
SSP Kulgam Hameet Singh told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that they had advised the people not to go near the encounter site until it is cleared off the fatal shells and live ammunition.
“Civilians went near the encounter site ignoring the advisory. Six civilians were injured due to an explosion at the encounter site and one of them succumbed,” he said.
Earlier, three militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces.
