Feroz calls for long term proposals for promotion, preservation of culture

Kargil : Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan Wednesday called for the need to expand the process of promotion and preservation of folk traditions by formulating long-term proposals.
The CEC stated this while addressing a literary gathering during the first day of the 2-days district level multilingual Hussaini Mushaira organized by the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil at Language Center here Wednesday.
While hailing the efforts of Cultural Academy in organizing such poetic gatherings at regular intervals, the CEC appreciated the poets for excellent rendering of their poetic compositions. He stressed on the officers of Cultural Academy Kargil to involve the youth particularly school children in cultural and literary programs so as to apprise them about the importance of traditions and heritage besides generating their interest in the field of culture and literature.
The CEC said culture determines the true identity of a community or race and it is the collective responsibility of all the stakeholders to ensure that the ethnic identities in terms of language, dress, food and predominantly the ancestral value of humility, sincerity and brotherhood do not get fade away due to the overpowering influence of modernization.
The CEC reiterated the commitment of the Hill Council Kargil towards the promotion and preservation of the cultural heritage of the district and assured all-out support to Cultural Academy Kargil in the fulfilment of its mandate satisfactorily. He urged upon the concerned to come up with concrete long-term proposals so as to pave way for a systematic process for cultural preservation and promotion.
Earlier during the poetic symposium held Wednesday poets Abdul Hamid Tanveer, Ghulam Ahmad Khan Jawan, Aga Syed Hadi Shah Aga, Haji Muhammad Ibrahim Rahee, Bashir Ahmad Wafa, Akber Ali Khan Shaheen, Muhammad Asghar Asvi, Nissar Hussain Trespone, Muhammad Jawad Jalib, Fida Hussain Wazir Fida, Muhammad Ali Baba and Fida Ali Fida Karkiti presented their Hussaini poetic renderings which were highly applauded by the audience.
Earlier in the welcome speech Special Officer for Culture G-1 Kargil Nazir Hussain while speaking about the aims and objectives of the two days literary event highlighted the various activities being organized by Cultural Academy during the current year.
Special Officer for Culture Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak presented the vote of thanks.
