Ganderbal : After the launch of Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Program (J&KREGP), the Khadi and Village Industries Board, Ganderbal Wednesday convened its maiden District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) meeting regarding the implementation of J&KREGP, under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, N A Baba.
A constituted Task Force, consisting of 8 members including, Lead District Manager, Representatives of ITI/ Polytechnic/DIC/ Financing Banks and District Officer J&K KVIB conducted the interviews of prospective entrepreneurs.
J&KREGP is new credit linked subsidy program to harness and divert the energy and enthusiasm of the unemployed youth of the State for the establishment of the productive enterprise in micro industrial sector and to create employment opportunities in rural areas of the district.
The Scheme has been launched in the State with an objective to increase the wage-earning capacity of artisans/ workers and contribute to increase in the growth rate of rural employment by mobilizing the bank finance for establishment of Village Industries Sector of the state on modern lines.
Pertinently about 200 applications have been received from the unemployed youth of the district Ganderbal. The final list of selected candidates will be finalized after proper scrutinizing the different parameters required for the scheme.
