Rajouri : Teams of Sheep Husbandry department Tuesday started Enterotoxaemia vaccination to provide immediate treatment to reportedly sick livestock here at Koteranka.
Taking cognizance of reports regarding the non-availability of vaccination and loss of the livestock thereof, District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad directed the District Sheep Husbandry officer to verify the facts and immediately provide vaccination at all the dhoks of Koteranka block.
Taking the matter most seriously, the district sheep husbandry officer with the teams of doctors visited the particular place and enquired about the matter from the nomadic family. It was found out that people are demanding enterotoxaemia vaccine used to treat enterotoxaemia, also known as overeating or pulpy kidney disease caused by the bacteria.
The department dispatched a consignment of 10,000 enterotoxaemia vaccination to Koteranka area with teams for kori Hill, Kesari Hill, Phalwari, Kandi Naalah, Sawari and khawas of block Kotranka to vaccinate the infected livestock in next two days.
Meanwhile, the DDC has assured the livestock rearers of timely help from district administration in the future if the need arises
