Srinagar : The Department of Tourism Kashmir Wednesday organized a familiarization (FAM) tour for over 200 international players from different countries who participated in the 4th Asian Pencak Silat Championship held in Srinagar.
Around 250 players and officials from 10 countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines and India participated in the event, which concluded Wednesday here at Indoor Sports Complex.
The department of tourism took the players to the tour of Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens and also organized a motorboat cruise drive in river Jhelum from Zero Bridge to Safa Kadal in Srinagar.
Tasaduq Jeelani said these international players who visited many tourist locations in Srinagar can be J&K’s future brand ambassadors, as they will share memorable moments spent in Kashmir with their family and friends, which in turn would more attract tourists from their countries to the State. He said such initiatives go on increasing word of mouth publicity of Kashmir.
He said the Tourism Department wants to tap the potential of the South Asian market and taking these players on FAM tour was the best opportunity to showcase them our landscape.
