Gandhi and peace in Kashmir

No better an occasion than the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi the apostle of truth and non violence for the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres to visit India and significantly equally a golden opportunity for the UN Chief to hear the cries for peace in Kashmir from all the stakeholders. A civil society group had sent a letter of invitation to UN Chief for a visit to Kashmir to know all that what he has been hearing from others including the Governments of India and Pakistan the two main stakeholders of the long pending Kashmir issue and Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) too has sought his intervention for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue. Though UN chief has cited pre-occupied engagements a reason for conveying his inability to visit Kashmir this time but a meeting of few minutes with those aspiring for peace in Kashmir with the UN Chief could be a huge encouragement for the peace lovers in Kashmir. Since UN Chief has many a times in last three years voiced his serious concerns over the situation in Jammu & Kashmir his maiden visit to India could be an opportunity for him to talk to leaders of such human rights bodies who have released reports about the prevailing situation in Jammu & Kashmir. Meeting with the people at helm in Delhi and denying an opportunity to meet those who show concern about the situation in Jammu & Kashmir won’t be a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi the apostle of truth and non violence from the United Nations General Secretaty Antonio Guterres.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres would be leaving India with a sense of satisfaction if he mouths few words about the  resolution of Kashmir issue for the purpose of peace and non violence Jammu & Kashmir state

Since Mahtma Gandhi has himself once said that he saw a ray of hope emerging Kashmir the United Nations General Secretary coming on his maiden visit to India on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandi won’t be offering a real tribute to apostle of truth and non violence of he does not hear those concern about the present situation in Jammu & Kashmir state. Today when violence has overtaken non violence and lies have overtaken truths the people in Jammu & Kashmir are crying for the intervention of UN Secretary General to address the cause of unending violence in Kashmir. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres would be leaving India with a sense of satisfaction if he mouths few words about the resolution of Kashmir issue for the purpose of peace and non violence Jammu & Kashmir state.
