Jammu : Super specialty Hospital Jammu Saturday organised an awareness event to mark World Heart Day.
World Heart day is celebrated on September 29 every year for raising awareness about cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke.
Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas was also present at the awareness program.
In the opening address, Principal Medical college Sunanda Raina elaborated on the importance of the day and made invitees aware about the do’s and don’ts to keep a healthy heart.
MP Manhas, while speaking on this occasion, said campaigns focussing on the health of the people are prestigious and noble.
“In present times one should make a promise to take care of his own heart by adopting healthy life style and saying no to smoking” he said adding youth in particular should take due care of it.
He called upon the people not to be dependent on fast food due to busy schedule and invite heart attacks. “One should put firm brake in the busy schedule to take care of the body and heart to live an exemplary and healthy life, “he retreated.
