SPO who fled away with rifles was already connected with militants: DGP

Srinagar: Director General Police, Dilbagh Singh on Saturday disclosed that Special Police Officer (SPO) who fled with the rifles from Jawahar Nagar residence of PDP MLA was already connected with the militants and investigation into the incident is underway.
As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a police Darbar at Bandipora, DGP Dilbagh Singh said “the Special Police Officer (SPO) who fled with the rifles from Jawahar Nagar residence of PDP MLA was already connected with the militants and a fast track investigation has been started. Action will be taken against the police officials for showing dereliction of duty.”
Saying that Jammu and Kashmir police is working in coordination and cooperation with para militaries and army in conducting fare and transparent local body elections in the state, DGP said “the government forces are in a state of preparedness for the successful conduct of local body elections in the state.” (KNS)
