Khelo India: Exciting sports competitions witnessed at Smailpur

Samba : Exciting competitions in Badminton, Football and Wrestling were witnessed as the block level sports tournament progressed here Saturday at Sports Stadium, Smailpur.
The tournament is organised by the District Administration Samba under “Sports for peace and development,” an initiative of Govt. of India under Khelo India campaign.
Nishkersh Saini (U17), Hitesh Khajuria (U20), Raju Sharma (Above 20) emerged winners in Badminton, while A.P.S Bari Brahmana stole the show by trouncing H.S.S Smailpur 3-0 in football. In wrestling competition Razak Hussain, Sahil Chark (Above 20), Wasim Akram, Harish Bhagat, Gautam Kumar, Mukesh Kumar (U20), Ajay Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Sahil, Shabia Ali (U17) emerged winners in their individual bouts.
The sports events were conducted by ZPEOs Rakesh Verma and Vijay Singh Salathia.
While interacting with participants, the Chief Guest Additional Superintendent of Police Samba Faisal Qureshi congratulated the winning teams and said Khelo India Sports events will not only benefit the participants physically but emotionally as sports in itself is a complete chapter of learning.
Also present were SDPO Bari-Brahmana Sunil Kesar and a large number of sports enthusiasts.
