Kathua : Motor Vehicle Department has realized over Rs 4.5 lakh fine from traffic violators during a special 2 day drive.
As per the MVD, the drive launched under the Supervision of RTO Dr. Raj K. Thapa started by laying a naka on National highway near RTO office at 10 PM Friday which continued till 11.30 AM on this morning.
A total of 278 vehicles were checked and fine to the tune of Rs. 482900 (Four Lac, Eighty two Thousand & Nine Hundred only) was realised for violation of various provisions of Motor Vehicle Act & rules framed.
Various vehicles were imposed fine for offences like not wearing seat belt, without helmet, w/o Pollution Under Control Certificates, using mobile phone while driving, overloading in goods vehicles etc.
The other members of team were ARTO Kathua Kuldeep Singh, MVI Vikas Srivats, MVI Kamal Kumar , MVI Ravinder Kumar and other MVD Officials.
