Govt issues guidelines for publication of tenders in national newspapers

Srinagar: The Governor’s administration Friday issued guidelines for publication of tenders of importance in the national newspapers for works and procurement of stores, stock, and services for Government Departments.
According to the guidelines issued by the Principal Secretary Finance, Navin K Choudhary, advertisement charges of national dailies shall continue to be paid by the Information Department as usual after invariablyaccepting Departmental requirements for publishing advertisements or tenders.
“However, the cost of publishing such advertisements shall be debited to the relevant account head viz work/work contingencies or advertisement and publicity, “said a circular issued by the Principal Secretary Finance.
It said in case, the payments are debitable to works/work contingencies, the bills shall be forwarded by the Information Department to the concerned Works Division, besides shall intimate the advertisement charges payable to the concerned news agencies as well.
“It shall be beforehand conveyed by advertising Department/ officers to the Information Department while conveying request for publishing tenders that cost thereof will be borne by concerned Departments only and in absence of such commitment, the bills of publishing tenders shall continue to be paid by the Information Department out of its approved budget,” the circular further reads.
