Urs Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din (RA) arrangements finalized at Chrar-e-Sharief

Budgam : District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, Wednesday convened a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA).
The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Shah, CMO Dr GM Dar, CPO Abdul Rashid, SDM Chadoora Aziz Ahmad, Auqaf Officer of JK Waqf Board and district heads of various line departments.
The DDC took the department-wise review of arrangements and directed the concerned to ensure that all the arrangements including installation of street lights, cleanliness of the Shrine premises and surroundings, installation of additional mobile toilet facilities and proper sanitation and dumping of waste well before the commencement of the week-long Urs.
She directed PHE and PDD departments to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the town and vicinity areas during the Urs days.
The EO of Municipality Chrar-e-Sharief was directed to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness and regular lifting of garbage from the Shrine area. He was also instructed to decide for the additional mobile toilet facilities besides installation of street lights and restoration of defunct ones in next two days at required places.
The DDC also directed JKPCC to submit safety report of the Khankah building by October 01, while as Disaster Management Department was instructed to conduct a safety audit of the building to ensure the building is safe for the congregational prayers.
The DySP Traffic and ARTO Budgam were directed to formulate a foolproof Traffic Management Plan to provide to-and-fro transport facilities for the devotees. They were also instructed to arrange additional parking arrangements for vehicles.
Assistant Director FCS&CA, was directed to keep an adequate supply of rice, sugar, kerosene and cooking gas available for the consumers. While as Health department was directed to ensure requisite medical facilities during the Urs days.
The DDC also directed the SDM Chadoora to set up a control room to ensure all the arrangements are put in place.
It was informed that PoshakBandi of the mausoleum would be performed on October 5 while as Urs would be held on October 7.
