Second militant killed in Sopore gunfight as top LeT commander:Police

Srinagar/Sept,26: Police on Wednesday said that the second militant killed in Sopore killed in Sopore gunfight has been also identified. A police spokesman said that the second militant has been identified as Abu Maaz, a top commander of LeT in North Kashmir.As already reports police Tuesday this week identified one of the two slain militants killed in Sopore gunfight as Abdul Majeed Mir alias Sameer of Tujar Sharief area of Baramulla district. With this police has identified the two militants killed in Sopore gunfight as Abu Maaz, a top commander of LeT in North Kashmir and Abdul Majeed Mir alias Sameer of Tujar Sharief area of Baramulla district Two militants were killed in a gunfight in Tujar area of Sopore Tuesday this week.

“The slain militants were active in the area and were involved in various cases of civilian killings and attacks on security establishments,” said the spokesman.“They were also found involved in Case FIR No 02/2018 of PS Bomai which pertains to the killing of Arif Maqbool Sofi R/O Wahipora Handwara, FIR No 37/2018 PS Bomai which pertains to the killing of Mohammad Ashraf Mir R/O Harwan and FIR No 72/2018 of PS Bomai which pertains to the recent killing of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Rasool Mir R/O Harwan Sopore,” claimed the spokesman.
