Srinagar: Describing the killing of three policemen on Friday as utter frustration of militants, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said the killers will be given severe punishment soon.
“ Donot inflate it”, he said adding 20 militants were killed by security forces in different encounter recently therefore it was a frustration.
He said one of the slain policemen was with railway while another was a Special Police Officer (SPO) who had nothing to do with Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) in the valley.
Mr Malik said since state police was in the forefront in the fight against militancy, they (militants) are therefore trying to target them (policemen). However, he said the militants cannot break the morale of police force and will continue to fight against them.
He said security forces and state police personnel will soon get the militants who killed unarmed personnel and given them server punishment.
Two policemen and a SPO were abducted from their houses and later killed by militants in south Kashmir district of Shopian early this morning.
