DBT key to ensure greater transparency in fertilizer sector: JD Agri Extension (K)

Srinagar: Joint Director Agriculture Extension Kashmir Choudhary Mohammad Iqbal Thursday chaired a meeting to review the progress of stock, supply and sale of different kinds of fertilizers across the valley.
The meeting also took stock of the achievements in the implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the fertilizer sector.
On the occasion, the Joint Director Agriculture enjoined upon the officers to sensitize the retail fertilizer dealers regarding the sale of fertilizers through Point of Sale Machines (P.O.S) as per the set instructions
He also called fertilizer companies operating in the valley to immediately stop the import of non-FCO Organic/ Biofertilizers and other products into the valley, as per the already issued orders by Agriculture Production Department.
State Coordinator DBT Department of Fertilizers Akhil Vaid, Regional S.M.S Mohammad Yaseen Masoodi, Program officer of the Department and other concerned were also present in the meeting.
